Yesterday Edia have officially started a crowdfunding campaign on Makuake site for a project regarding bringing a collection from the Ernest Evans series.
This series is a trilogy consisting of “El Viento,” “Ernest Evans,” and “Annette Returns,” developed by Wolf Team and published by Nihon Telenet at the beginning of the 90’s.
Ernest Evans is a 2D action and platform game series based on the Cthulhu Mythos, and set in USA during the 1920, starring the wind priestess Annette Meyer and adventurer Ernest Evans.
But the series started with another title, El Viento, originally published on Megadrive in 1991, a horizontal shoot’em up featuring Annette while Ernest Evans was released few months later on Mega CD and it’s a prequel that shows how Ernest and Annette met each other.
The last chapter, Annette Returns (Annette Futatabi in Japanese) was released in 1993 on Mega CD and it’s a side scrolling beat’em up starring Annette again.
The crowdfunding campaign will last 30 days and the target is to reach 5 million yen; different rewards are included but all includes the digital copy of the game.
But there are high chances that, if the campaign is successful, a physical release will be also announced in the same way Edia did for Chouaniki Collection, which is going to be released in the incoming month (you can still pre-order the regular version or the limited edition).
Ernest Evans Collection, this is the tentative title, if funded is planned to be released on Switch, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, probably in the summer of 2025.
