Rainy Frog have announced that the previously released in digital form Night Slashers Remake will be published in Japan in stores.
Released in 1993 by Data East for arcades, Night Slashers is a side scrolling beat’em up where the players have to fight hordes of frightful enemies like mutants and walking dead monsters while bosses are based on the horror theme that inspired the game: the Grim Reaper, Count Dracula and Frankenstein.
While the original game features 3 different characters, Jake Hunter a monster hunter with cybernetic arms, Cristopher Smith a vampire hunter and martial artist and Hong Hua Zhao, a Chinese martial artist focused in agility, this remake adds a new character, Liu Felin, already seen in Fighter’s History: a top opera actress specialized in Praying Mantis kung fu style.
Night Slashers Remake offers a cooperative multiplayer up to 4 players, a renewed graphics and a polished soundtrack while the gameplay includes a good variety of moves, combos, jump attacks and running strikes, while each characters have different special moves.
After being released worldwide in digital form at the end of September, the game is planned to be released in physical form only in Japan for Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on 20 February 2025.
