(PS2) Gradius V

Gradius V is a horizontal shoot’em up developed by Treasure and published by Konami in 2004.
The last entry in the series adds some minor features to the classic gameplay, the most important are the introduction of checkpoints that allow the player to restart from them instead of the beginning of the stage and the “multiple” power-ups that can be controlled with the right stick.
Gradius V was highly praised for gameplay, level design and graphics but also the game’s difficulty was criticized.
The Japanese release includes “The History of Vic Viper”, a booklet dedicated to the iconic spaceship from the series.
