Trip World is a platform game developed and published by Sunsoft in 1992 on Gameboy, only in Japan and Europe.
After the “Mayta Flower“, a symbol of peace, is stolen, the main character, Jacob, goes on an adventure to the “Trip World”, which is made up of five worlds, in pursuit of the culprit. He flies, runs across the land, swims through the water, and collects special items as he attempts to retrieve the Mayta Flower and restore Trip World.
The game has got a remake due to Limited Run Games’ Carbon Engine that allows for supreme accuracy in retro game emulation and gorgeous modern presentation to create a brand-new experience for timeless classics. Thanks to the supervision of Yuichi Ueda, the director of the original Gameboy title, the game has been colorized and the Japanese publisher Superdeluxe has announced that the game is going to be released physically in all videogames stores in Japan.
The physical release will include a manual and a reversible jacket but also the Deluxe Edition has been confirmed and will include an original cardboard box, a mini magazine, a trading card and the original soundtrack on CD.
Trip World DX will be released on Switch and PlayStation 5 on 28 March 2024, the game will be playable in both Japanese and English languages.
